Springtime in Temecula

We celebrated our 6th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, June 3... what a better way to do that than to go to the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival!

For the first time, we ventured out to watch the balloons fill up and take off over lovely Lake Skinner - Rachel and Ellie were amazed by the balloons "Blooming!" full of air ... providing much needed shade on a day that ended up beign 102 degrees!!!!!!!

We skipped back home for lunch and naps, before heading back in the evening to listen to the Gin Blossoms & Peter Frampton... and watch the balloon glow. The music was great - it was neat for Perry and I to see a band we both saw individually while we were in our college-daze in AZ... Ummm... they haven't aged a bit. Neither have we. haha
Did anyone realize balloon glows are quite loud, actually, and terrifying for two year olds? I mean my two year old. Needless to say, after I finished my wine, we managed to high tail it home before the majority of the traffic.

Once again, I love living here - beautiful wine country - warm days - cool nights... a lovely lake to go camping and fishing at just 7 minutes from our house... what more could we ask for?
