Ellie's adoption day is coming up! We got the call last week - July 18, 2006. Rachel's adoption anniversary is July 29th... isn't that amazing? We'll always be able to celebrate their adoptions together! yet another miracle of this whole process...

I was writing to an old friend this morning who is having a baby, and I wanted so much to tell her that the pregnancy part is the shortest portion of parent-hood -- and then I stopped. I didn't want to cheapen or appear to try and be cheapening that for her. It must be thrilling to experience the changes in your body... the changes that bringing life into the world must make in your heart...I never got to experience that, but I don't feel like I'm left wanting.

The thing that always comes back and leaves me in awe and wonder, are that Rachel and Ellie came to us. How they came to us. How miraculous that we were chosen to be with each other. How can you see it any other way?
